Loan Officer

About the role

This full-time remote Loan Officer role is responsible for guiding clients through the mortgage process from initial contact to closing.

Responsibilities

• Generating and nurturing leads
• Conducting borrower consultations
• Gathering and analyzing financial information
• Recommending appropriate loan products
• Managing loan origination activities
• Cooking with underwriting
• Ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations
• Maintaining proactive communication with clients, real estate agents, and internal teams
• Providing excellent customer service
• Maintaining individual and team performance goals

Qualifications

• Experience as a Loan Officer, with a strong understanding of mortgage products and lending guidelines
• Finance skills, including analyzing income, assets, credit reports, and debt-to-income ratios
• Underwriting-related knowledge to collaborate effectively with underwriters and assess loan risk
• Customer Service skills to build trust, explain complex information clearly, and maintain responsive communication
• Loan Origination skills, including managing applications, documentation, and pipeline from pre-qualification to closing
• Relevant state licensing and registration as required; active NMLS registration preferred
• Familiarity with mortgage software, CRM tools, and standard office technologies
• Strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Proven track record of meeting sales or production targets; experience with brokers or wholesale lenders is beneficial
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in business, finance, or related field is a plus
