Loan Officer

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to both current and prospective loan customers
• Gives financial advice and counsel to customers
• Contributes to profitability and growth of the bank by building, developing, and managing new and expanded client relationships
• Actively cross-sells appropriate banking products & services to new and existing customers and refers clients to other banking areas for additional needs
• Analyzes and forms decisions on loans and terms within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to a superior or loan committee
• Manages a portfolio of loans to ensure compliance with terms and conditions
• Coincides lending activities with others in the organization
• Coincides and communicates with Branch Manager to assist with rotations of opening, closing, lunch periods, etc.
• Serves as the main point of contact for loans in assigned branches and serves as backup contact for other branches

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial lending, banking, or financial analysis
• Good understanding of financial statements and credit fundamentals
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with banking systems is a plus
• Maintains registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
