Loan Officer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Makes and services consumer and commercial loans, both secured and unsecured.
• Handles both large and small credits.
• Maintains and manages existing credit relationships, including note renewals, financial statement analysis, collateral valuations, credit analysis, cash flow analysis, delinquency reporting, and covenant monitoring.
• Analyzes and evaluates credit requests, recommends credit grades, and prepares loan memorandums for credit approval.
• Develops new business by identifying and calling on existing or prospective customers, promoting and cross-selling Bank's services, and collaborating with Bank operations to ensure quality service.
• Participates in community and professional activities to enhance the Bank's image and expand personal networks for business development.
• Assists with other job-related duties and special projects as requested.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Formal Credit training preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience underwriting Commercial Loans and Consumer Loan experience.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and create/present accurate, articulate, and detailed written credit memorandums.
• Working knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements including Fair Lending, HMDA, Flood, and CRA.
• Working knowledge of collateral perfection requirements.
• Ability to grow quality portfolio with annual performance goals.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive written reports and verbal presentations.
• Proficiency in operating a computer and using MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Ability to work well under stress and manage multiple tasks.
• Good attendance and punctuality.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with Agricultural Lending.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Constant use of computer screens.
• Intermittent standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling or crouching.
• Long periods of typing and repetitive motion.
• Ability to lift and/or move and carry 10 pounds.
