About the role

The Loan Officer is responsible for marketing, new loan growth, and extending sound, constructive credit to borrowers and prospective borrowers.

Responsibilities

• Actively market for new loan customers
• Secure, process, and approve a wide variety of land and agriculturally related loan transactions
• Supervise and service an existing loan portfolio
• Attend farm and farm-related meetings sponsored by First South Farm Credit and other organizations
• Promote good customer relations
• Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs
• Meet daily attendance requirements for a full, continuous 8-hour shift

Travel is required for this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Agriculture discipline or equivalent education/experience
• Strong analysis, judgment, and communication skills (both oral and written)
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills
• Ability to be assertive and decisive in making sound business decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing an agricultural production loan portfolio or related practical experience, including Farm Credit experience
