Loan Insurance Specialist I

About the role

Performs a variety of administrative duties along with daily back-office loan functions, including assisting insurance vendors, providing support to the Bank’s lending staff with insurance matters, and performing flood reviews.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate and timely audit, processing, and payment preparation of monthly invoicing from service providers and Bank’s Insurance serving vendor.
• Posts insurance refunds and waived fees; prepares maintenance forms to remove increased payments.
• Facilitates communication between Bank’s lending staff and insurance vendors; responds to requests from Bank’s lenders and support teams.
• Generates accurate and timely weekly reports for insurance vendors.
• Generates the monthly report and remits the monthly VSI premiums to Insurance.
• Performs regulatory, timely, and accurate flood reviews on all loans when the collateral lies in a Standard Flood Hazard Area, ensuring compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program and Private Flood Insurance.
• Handles customer calls and research items for problem resolution, escalating when necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer programs and/or desktop applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in lending, insurance, banking, or a related financial environment (preferred).
