Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Represents the bank in a positive, courteous, friendly, and professional manner, including telephone, email, and other methods of communicating.
  • Gathers, and evaluates information from loan clients, title companies, and other parties, such as tax returns, collateral information, financial documents, etc.
  • Creates commercial, real estate, and consumer loan promissory notes, loan agreements and all other types of documents in accordance with the terms and conditions of credit policy and approval and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that loan document packages are complete and ready for funding and boarding including coordination with title and/or escrow companies for closing.
  • Maintains security of loan documents, including the perfection of the Bank’s interest in collateral and protection of documents which represent the Bank’s security interest (i.e. security agreements, recorded deeds, vehicle titles, UCC-1 forms, etc.).
  • Communicates and coordinates with bank colleagues to collect additional information needed to prepare loan documents.
  • Timely and accurately books and funds loans.
  • Performs a pre- and post-documentation review of loan documentation.
  • Requests title work, appraisals, and flood determinations for real estate secured loans.
  • Prepares general correspondence and all types of commercial, real estate, and consumer loan documents.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by Loan Operations Management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One year of loan documentation and/or three years of loan operations experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the stated qualifications.
  • A high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A positive attitude and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Proficient in use of the bank’s Loan Documentation system preferred.
  • A thorough understanding and familiarity of the bank’s loan policies and procedures.
  • The ability to quickly learn new skills and apply to role.
  • A thorough knowledge of regulatory and legal issues encountered in the completion and closing of complex commercial, real estate, and consumer loans.
  • An exceptional understanding of needs to provide client-focused service.
  • A thorough knowledge of title policies, UCC guidelines, lien filing and mortgage/deed of trust filing.
  • A thorough knowledge of loan regulations, including but not limited to, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Fair Credit Reporting Act (Reg V), and Real Estate Settlement Protection Act (Reg X).
  • A strong team focus with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
