Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation and input of documents required to ensure closing of Association refinance mortgages, HELOCs and consumer loans.
- Schedule and conduct loan closing interviews with Association borrowers on all types of mortgage and consumer loans.
- Disburse funds at closing after receiving clearance.
- Gather, prepare, and process documentation required to close refinance mortgage loans, HELOCs and consumer loans.
- Clear title on property securing loans, pay off current liens, pay taxes due and obtain documentation of the resulting cleared title.
- Work with escrow companies to ensure documents prepared are in compliance.
- Prepare Loans-to-One Borrower documentation.
- Review and audit loan files for federal lending regulation compliance.
- Maintain and follow up on loan files in pending status.
- Provide backup duties in the absence of other Loan Closers and lending staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent public and customer relations skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, determine needs, and maintain confidence.
- A thorough understanding of banking regulations and Association policies and procedures with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations quickly and independently.
- Organizational skills and composure.
- Flexibility and adaptability to prioritize a fluctuating workload in a customer-driven environment.
- Utilize analytical techniques and exercise independent judgment to identify strategies to solve problems and complex customer needs.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate and explain complex banking, lending and legal regulations and documents.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs with ability to learn new software.
- Exercise customer confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English well.
- Perform basic calculations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED or equivalent skills and training.
- Prior customer service experience.
- One year experience in loan origination or servicing of real estate loans preferred.
- Must be bondable.
