About the role
This role provides operational support across both Loan Booking and Loan Servicing functions based on business needs and volumes. The specialist is responsible for the booking and renewal processes of all loan packages into the Core System, ensuring accuracy of terms, conditions, and booking codes. Additionally, the role involves ongoing servicing and maintenance of all loan products while adhering to Bank policies, procedures, and servicing regulations.
Responsibilities
- Register all loans (new and renewed) into the Bank’s Core System, ensuring data integrity for terms, loan product, and codes.
- Input all necessary information into the Bank’s core system and/or workflow to ensure loans contain all required details for proper servicing and reporting.
- Process loan disbursements according to funding instructions, balancing daily disbursements handled in a decentralized manner.
- Serve as a backup for the Loan Processing team lead.
- Provide cross-functional support between Loan Booking and Loan Servicing based on operational priorities and volume fluctuations.
- Process all loan payments and advances accurately and timely, ensuring proper loan accounting and compliance with federal regulations.
- Handle mass payment processing and maintenance of the portfolio, including specialized loans.
- Monitor SWAP loans to ensure the loan and SWAP contract remain in balance.
- Monitor and process participations and syndicated loans where the Bank is in the lead position to ensure timely payments to and from participants.
- Provide customer service to clients and banking officers, resolving loan inquiry investigations promptly.
- Process all Special Assets loan transactions, including risk code adjustments, loan restructures, non-accrual, charge-offs, REPOs, and OREOs.
- Assist in reconciling loan-related general ledger accounts.
- Review loan operations reports to resolve errors and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain and provide accurate Key Performance Indicators data for the position.
- Complete audits as required and perform other related duties, including special projects.
- Fill in for other functions within the department during absences.
- Stay updated on changes to federal regulations affecting loan servicing and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; vocational training in legal documentation and loan accounting or comparable experience in lieu of education.
- Associate degree in Business preferred.
- Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in loan processing, banking operations, legal loan documentation, and loan accounting.
- Knowledge of banking regulations relating to domestic (multi-state) and international loans.
- Wire transfer experience preferred.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

- 75% of the time spent sitting at a desk utilizing a PC; 25% walking to and from other departments.
- High-volume workload, particularly at the end of the month, with shifting priorities and frequent telephone interruptions.
