Loan Assistant

Responsibilities

• Processes loans, including preparation work, computer input, and follow-up.
• May assist with loan closings.
• Prepares reports for management.
• Assists with preparing loans for loan committee, as needed.
• Establishes, maintains, and revises filing and record-keeping articles, records, and other documents.
• Affords assistance to customers regarding loan questions or account inquiries.
• Affords assistance with bill paying and GL entries.
• Handles exception tracking and processes payments.

Requirements

• Knowledge of bank operations, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of loan processes and basic accounting.
• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Effective communication skills with management, customers, and co-workers.
• Pays close attention to detail and works with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to create an organized, efficient work environment without supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to function as a team player.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with computer software and bookkeeping is preferred.
