Loan Assistant

About the Role

Loan Assistants provide support to multiple loan officers and other loan personnel producing consumer, construction, commercial, agriculture, commercial real estate, and residential real estate loans. This role involves extensive contact with customers and the public, both in person and on the phone, to meet the needs of high-profile customers and develop new business through the application and closing process.

Responsibilities

• Assist lending staff with daily responsibilities, including document collection, closing, and telephone/personal interaction with customers and third-party vendors.
• Correspond with applicants to gather required financial information and documentation for the loan approval process.
• Input and maintain loan applications in banking software applications.
• Maintain open communication regarding loan status with members of the loan department, vendors, and other required parties.
• Order title work, UCC searches, flood certificates, environmental reports, and other related data.
• Coordinate with borrowers and/or insurance agents to obtain required insurance documentation.
• Review closing documents prior to loan funding and ensure any pending items are addressed.
• Work Lenders’ Technical Exceptions.
• Provide payoff information to customers or other organizations.
• Assist in obtaining updated financial statements, credit reports, rent rolls, and other financial information to maintain the servicing file.
• Interact with all bank staff and departments for accurate resolutions to problems and errors.
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in various community and public events.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn other banking software applications.
• Proficient knowledge of BancFirst Loan Policy and Procedures, the Uniform Commercial Code, Business Law, Real Estate Law, and Federal Compliance Regulations (training provided).
• Must demonstrate a business professional image and demeanor at all times.
• Able to perform in a highly sensitive environment, deal with confidential matters, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate above-average problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Work well individually and with a team while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Outstanding listening and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must be flexible and able to work additional hours when crucial to the department.
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the loan process and loan documentation is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Constant use of computer screens.
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk, see, or hear.
• Intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling, or crouching.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time during the workday.
• Long periods of typing and repetitive motion.
• Ability to lift and/or move and carry up to 10 pounds.

Full Time, Monday through Friday.
