Position Summary
A loader must be able to efficiently move product from staging lanes into trailer for proper distribution of order to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks
- Move freight, stock, or other materials from staging lanes into trailers
- Consolidate multiple pallets together, wrap all pallets being loaded
- Use RF Gun to scan all barcodes pertaining to client being loaded
- Ensure integrity of product for shipment; ensure no product is being damaged
- Fast paced environment, must be able to keep productive pace; complete tasks in a timely manner
- Follow safety procedures
- Keep track of inventory and process items
- Other duties as assigned by warehouse leadership
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail
- Diligent and punctual
- Detail oriented
- Must be able to work in cold and wet environments
- Flexibility regarding work hours and overtime
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Previous experience using an RF scanner gun preferred
- Experience operating Electric Pallet jack preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures preferred
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The work environment is that typical of a distribution center. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools, or controls. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. Able to squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, kneel, and reach. Required to work in a food handling environment with varying climates, including dry, humid, cold, and hot. Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud. Exposure to extreme temperature changes, moisture, noise, odors, and moving equipment.
