Load Builder I
About the role
Under general supervision, you will perform routine loading and unloading of materials within the yard or work site. You will assemble load packages into trucks for delivery to customer job sites, load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trucks, or customer vehicles, and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
You will drive various lifting devices (e.g., forklift) to move products, equipment, or materials around the warehouse, shop, or yard. The role includes load-building, determining the appropriate weight, composition, and placement of load based on customer orders and vehicle capacity to ensure the load is balanced and safe for hauling. You will convey materials to or from storage using hand trucks, electric dollies, forklifts, or other devices and attach identifying tags or labels to materials for correct identification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and three (3) months of experience performing these or similar tasks; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Forklift Certification required.
