LMHC or LMSW - Samaritan Hospital; Crime Victim Services

About the role

The LMSW/LMHC will provide services to victims/survivors of sexual, physical and domestic violence, stalking, other crimes and to secondary victims of crimes. This position focuses on providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups who have survived traumatic events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a therapy caseload of 20 to 25 individual clients seen weekly.
• Provide supportive services, including but not limited to crisis intervention, counseling/therapy, advocacy, compensation assistance.
• Assist with staffing the programs 24-hour hotline (minimum of 4, 12-hour shifts per month).

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field required.
• A valid NYS driver’s license and dependable transportation are also required.
• Previous experience providing counseling to individuals and groups ages 12 and older is strongly desired.
• Experience working with victims/survivors of crime is preferred.
• LMSW/LMHC preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Limited Licensure through NYS Education Department required if not yet licensed.
• Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and the Department of Corrections is desired.
• NYS Department of Health Sexual Assault Counselor Certification is required but will be provided to the desired candidate at no cost if not yet certified.

Qualifications

Benefits

Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.

The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
