Live-In Private Duty Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels’ Montgomery office provides compassionate, in-home care across Central Alabama, including Prattville, Wetumpka, Eclectic, Auburn, Opelika, and surrounding communities. We seek dedicated Live-In Private Duty Caregivers to become trusted companions and deliver dignified support to seniors and adults with care needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the home and during outings such as doctor’s appointments or walks
• Help clients with personal care, hygiene, and prescribed medication
• Support clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients (when able), accommodating dietary constraints
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete independently
• Assist with shopping or accompany clients on shopping trips
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Report any unusual incidents and respond promptly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Genuine passion to serve others and a true caregiver spirit
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Experience with housekeeping and meal preparation aligned with dietary needs
• Commitment to health, safety, and respectful care standards
• Strong ethics, compassion, and respect for client dignity
• Reliable time management and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to meet the demands of caregiving
• High school diploma or equivalent
