Live-In Companion/Caregiver
About the role
Support Inc. is a highly regarded service agency that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking enthusiastic caregivers who are willing to provide care to an individual who cannot live independently in their community and doesn’t want to live in a communal setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care
- Aid with oral hygiene care and meal preparation
- Offer a variety of recreational activities to enhance social development
- Incorporate the client into family life and activities
- Accompany clients to supermarkets, museums, parks, dances, recreation centers, etc.
- Provide transportation as needed
- Assist with medical care, including appointments and administering medications
- Document progress notes and medical records
- Train on life learning skills
- Participate in client programming and events
Requirements
- Experience with providing personal care
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- The ability to use adaptive equipment for transfers and bathing, training provided
- A high school or equivalent education
- A valid driver's license
- Completion of training for medication administration, CPR/First Aid, and ongoing training as deemed necessary
- No pets or full-time children
- A good sense of humor, patience, and a dedicated personality are a plus

Benefits
Support Inc. provides paid initial and ongoing training, assistance in finding respite and home care aid(s), ongoing support and assistance, and participation in client programming and events.
Pay
TBD/day. This compensation arrangement is well-suited to potential caregivers who are currently renting.
