Live-In Certified Nurse Aide

About the role

Visiting Angels of Longview is hiring a Live‑In Certified Nurse Aide to provide compassionate, in‑home care for senior adults across East Texas, including Longview, Hallsville, Kilgore, Marshall, Gladewater, Carthage, Henderson, and surrounding areas. The role supports clients in maintaining dignity while staying or recovering at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Manage light housekeeping tasks.
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the correct times.
• Help with shopping and putting away groceries, or shop on behalf of clients.
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the house, attending doctor appointments, and taking walks.
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies, reporting health changes or unusual circumstances promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent time‑management skills.
• Reliable transportation to client visits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
• Willingness to comply with state and office‑specific health and safety standards.
