Responsibilities
A Live-In Certified Nurse Aide helps our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity. Responsibilities may include:
- Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
- Managing light housekeeping
- Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
- Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
- Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
- Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
- Aiding clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks
Requirements
To be a Visiting Angels Live-In Certified Nurse Aide, you must:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have excellent time-management skills
- Have reliable transportation to client visits
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be familiar with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
- Be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Have training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
- Have a heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship
- Be willing to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
