Live Fish Hauler

About the role

Jones Lake Management seeks a motivated Live Fish Hauler to join their team. This position involves safely transporting live fish to designated drop-off points within the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, transport, and unload live fish, ensuring animal health throughout the journey.
• Maintain accurate logs and driving records and ensure all required documentation is complete.
• Represent Jones Lake Management professionally, upholding their reputation as industry leaders.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Home nightly — regional run departing from the Cincinnati area to the designated halfway meet point and returning the same day.
• Typical schedule is 4 to 5 days per week with a minimum of 40 hours during peak season.

Qualifications

• Clean driving record — CDL required.
• Excellent time management.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Proficient use of smartphone apps for route planning and communication.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
• Interest in fisheries, aquatics, or natural resources is a plus.

Skills

• Associate's degree or higher in Biology, Fisheries, or a related field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on work experience will be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Bending at the waist and/or knees; lifting arms at or above shoulder height.
• Frequent entry and exit from the truck throughout the workday.
• Driving for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work extended hours in all weather conditions — hauling runs rain or shine.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT medical card.

Pay

Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
