We are a well-established and growing law firm seeking talented California-licensed civil defense attorneys to join our expanding litigation practice. The firm is open to attorneys at multiple levels and offers an unusually flexible work environment, including in-office, hybrid, and fully remote options.
About the role
Attorneys will handle a diverse caseload involving sophisticated civil litigation matters and will have meaningful responsibility throughout the litigation process.
- Managing multiple cases from inception through resolution
- Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Handling court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Assisting with trial preparation and, where appropriate, trial participation
- Reviewing and analyzing documents and discovery
- Developing case strategy and communicating directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Managing deadlines and working efficiently and independently
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience; defense litigation experience preferred
Skills
- Strong research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
- Strong client communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Deposition, motion practice, mediation, and trial experience preferred
