Litigation Systems Analyst

About the role

The Systems Analyst position at CGS supports a wide-ranging technical support initiative for a large Federal agency’s ongoing litigation efforts. CGS brings together motivated, highly skilled, and creative individuals to innovate for the government using cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Government staff and/or under the direction of the Contract IT Manager, Systems Manager, Senior Systems Analyst, or Lead Project Manager.
  • Define system and project requirements based on information gathered from the COR, Government Case Managers, and trial staff.
  • Design entire system to meet defined requirements, working out the details of functional and design requirements, systems design, programming specifications, data elements, data validation specifications, data capture mechanisms, and data conversion procedures through discussions with Government staff and own superiors.
  • Translate functional requirements into systems designs suitable for development of appropriate computer programs.
  • Test software, including preparation and use of sample data for testing purposes.
  • Make presentations of findings, recommendations, and specifications in formal reports and in oral presentations.
  • Develop systems documentation required in the task orders.
  • Consult with Government staff and with other Contractor staff to ensure understanding of task objectives, identify problems, and suggest improvements.
  • Provide technical expertise, direction, and supervision to lower-level personnel, possibly functioning as a technical supervisor or team leader for a project.
  • Report on progress to Government staff and to superiors.
  • Develop and provide user and technical documentation and training for systems developed.

Qualifications

  • Substantial, hands-on, successful experience in doing the work on the systems being used, typically at least three years.
  • Broad knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation networks, and PC and server based databases and applications.
  • Supervisory or team leader experience very useful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in automated litigation support very helpful.
  • Experience with Relativity, ReadySuite (Compiled/KLDiscovery), and I-Pro eCapture.
  • An undergraduate degree strongly preferred; preferably in the computer science or information management/technology disciplines.
  • Reliability Certification Administrator certification preferred for onsite personnel.
