Litigation Support Project Manager - Multiple Offices (Hybrid)
About the role
The Litigation Support Project Manager will develop and implement comprehensive eDiscovery project plans addressing identification, collection, review, analysis, and production of evidence in administrative and litigation matters. This position follows a hybrid work schedule with one day per week in office. If New York is not your home office, you will be required to be in the New York City office once per quarter.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive eDiscovery project plans addressing identification, collection, review, analysis, and production of evidence in administrative and litigation matters.
- Stakeholder Management: Ensure internal case teams, eDiscovery Counsel, and Department Directors receive timely and accurate cost estimates and statements of work based on litigation team objectives and deadlines.
- Expert Consultation: Provide expert assistance with eDiscovery search projects, including drafting and testing search terms, and preparing search term analysis reports.
- Project Oversight: Oversee managed review projects, ensuring cost-efficiencies aligned with litigation team objectives and deadlines.
- Project Reporting: Deliver timely and accurate project reports based on litigation team objectives and deadlines, while maintaining defensibility of processes and documentation for audits and legal challenges.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to Litigation Support and eDiscovery best practices, including pre-review quality assurance protocols, managed review workflows, pre-production validations, adherence to production specifications, and quality assurance checks for production deliverables.
- Technology & Innovation: Evaluate emerging eDiscovery technologies (Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI systems) for document review, privilege analysis, data classification, and case strategy.
- Process Improvement & Protocol Development: Analyze existing litigation support workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and quality enhancement.
- Team Building: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Litigation Support personnel.
Qualifications
- eDiscovery Consulting:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure address eDiscovery-related topics.
- Familiarity with common Information Technology systems and applications.
- Ability to assess eDiscovery issues in administrative and litigation matters to formulate and implement workflows to achieve case team and client objectives.
- Advise case teams on best practices and methodologies for the review and analysis of evidence, including customized workflows to increase efficiency and minimize costs.
- eDiscovery Project Management:
- Primary liaison for eDiscovery and Litigation Support issues between legal teams, eDiscovery resources, technical staff, outside providers, and discovery consultants.
- Plan, organize, and manage projects in a proportional and cost-efficient manner using appropriate workflow and technology options.
- Ensure proper documentation of eDiscovery project plans, workflows, role and task assignments, cost estimates, timetables, and process improvements.
- Create key reports memorializing ESI collections, filtering, culling, processing, review, and productions.
- Oversee data processing and production specifications per legal requirements.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Litigation Support & eDiscovery Technology:
- RelativityOne expertise, including administrative capabilities, Structured Analytics, CAL Prioritized Review, aiR for Review, aiR for Privilege, aiR for Case Strategy, managed review workflows, and production capabilities.
- Proficient search term construction, including testing, reporting, and measuring search term effectiveness.
- Expertise with Everchron and OnCue.
- Resource Management:
- Promote and encourage legal teams to leverage internal and external resources through all phases of eDiscovery.
- Guide legal teams and clients on the selection of appropriate eDiscovery services and software solutions.
- Delegate eDiscovery and litigation support tasks to the appropriate personnel and/or outside eDiscovery service providers.
- Administrative:
- Comply with the Firm’s Employee Security Policy, including ethical obligations to protect clients’ confidential and sensitive information and the Firm’s proprietary and confidential business information.
- Complete project time entry contemporaneously and release time weekly.
- Maintain and complete time sheets pursuant to Firm policy.
- Attain expertise in litigation support technology and proactively use state-of-the-art solutions to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge about litigation support and eDiscovery systems.
- Participate and contribute to eDiscovery and litigation support peer groups.
- Ensure all written and oral communications are succinct and professional in tone.
- Work collaboratively and efficiently with attorneys and cross-department personnel.
- Prioritize and manage multiple complex projects with attention to detail.
- Develop creative solutions.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in furtherance of client projects.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 years of Litigation Support/eDiscovery Project Management experience required, preferably for a major law firm with responsibilities across multiple offices.
- Prior Litigation Paralegal experience is preferred.
