Litigation Docketing Specialist - New Mexico

This position reports to the Docketing Manager and provides national, multi-jurisdictional litigation docketing support firm-wide. The role is client-focused and detail-oriented, requiring strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in New Mexico state and federal courts to independently identify deadlines based on jurisdiction rules.

Responsibilities

  • Make entries of litigation deadlines into the docketing database following established procedures and methods.
  • Thoroughly review filed documents and written docketing requests to ensure all deadlines are identified and docketed.
  • Perform research as needed to verify the applicability of deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with case teams to gather additional information necessary to accurately maintain case docketing.
  • Handle all case team inquiries and requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Monitor internal team inboxes to execute on the receipt and retention of all court filings.
  • Monitor cases using various online resources and distribute documents as requested.
  • Support multiple projects assigned by the Docketing Manager or senior team members.
  • Maintain litigation docketing team protocols.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the firm’s overall objectives.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of litigation docketing, calendaring, and civil procedure experience.
  • Knowledge of various court websites, litigation procedures, docket searching, and document retrieval databases.
  • Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
  • Ability to read legal documents and determine if future deadlines are evident.
  • Strong knowledge of court rules and procedures in New Mexico state and federal courts.
  • Proven ability to learn and retain new information quickly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the firm.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, data entry, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.

  • Speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand.
  • Regularly understand the speech of another person.

Schedule

This position will start as a hybrid role throughout the onboarding period, then transition to a primarily remote schedule. Additional days in-office may be required depending on business need and the demands of specific tasks. The hybrid work structure may change at any time, including the number of in-office day requirements.

Pay

Compensation considers a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market, and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment. A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance.
