About the role

A permanent litigation attorney position focusing on medical malpractice. The role involves managing a caseload from inception to resolution, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, representing clients, collaborating with experts, negotiating settlements, and providing regular updates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
  • Represent clients before courts, arbitration panels, and other tribunals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, skilled nursing professionals, and other experts to gather evidence and build strong cases.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends related to medical malpractice.
  • Provide regular case status updates to clients and firm partners.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Litigation Attorney, with a focus on medical malpractice.
  • Proven experience working with physicians and skilled nursing professionals on legal cases.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines concurrently.
  • Strong negotiation and client management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications
