Litigation Attorney - Chicago

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation for policyholders according to ethical standards
• Analyze ongoing litigation and assess risks to the company
• Draft pleadings, papers, and briefs for trial or appellate proceedings
• Advocate client positions in various forums and settings
• Negotiate resolutions of all litigation issues
• Stay updated on state laws and court decisions impacting policy provisions
• Potentially develop specialty areas of legal practice

Qualifications

• Admitted to the IL state bar
• Juris Doctor required
• Solid knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law
• Demonstrated litigation experience
• Proven ability to prepare civil pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
• Experience in providing customer-driven legal solutions
• Understanding of Professional Responsibility rules relevant to the jurisdiction
