About the role
We are a boutique, litigation-focused personal injury law firm seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our team. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is responsible, hardworking, and cares about both work product and winning. We give responsibility over files, but with accountability and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Investigate when a case comes in
- Create the game plan
- Draft the complaint
- Pursue discovery
- Argue motions
- Take depositions
- Work directly with clients
- Collaborate closely with partners on litigation strategy
- Participate in trials in both State and Federal courts
- Communicate timely with our partners, clients, referring attorneys, defense counsel
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Florida
- At least 5 years in practice, with a minimum of 3 years in civil litigation
- Strong research and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases
- Professional judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree earned with honors unless from a Top 75 University
- One of the following three law degrees earned from a law school ranked in the Top 50 in the US
- Law degree earned with honors from a law school ranked in the Top 100
- Law degree earned with high honors from law school not in the Top 100
Skills
- Strongly Valued (but not required): Clerkship with a Federal Judge or Magistrate Judge, Federal court experience, Experience with complex civil litigation, Significant motion practice and courtroom exposure, Experience at the U.S. Attorney's Office or Federal Public Defender, Experience in boutique or high-quality defense firms seeking more challenging cases, Longevity (3+ years) in prior attorney positions
