Key Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from initial case evaluation through resolution or trial.
- Develop case strategy and advise clients throughout the litigation process.
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal briefs.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Attend court hearings, case management conferences, and other legal proceedings.
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial.
- Collaborate with clients, insurance carriers, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams.
Qualifications
- Active member of the Utah Bar, or ability to obtain Utah Bar admission.
- Prior civil litigation experience required.
- Experience in medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, healthcare law, professional liability, or complex civil litigation is preferred.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
- Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities.
- Able to independently manage a litigation caseload.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
