Litigation Attorney

Key Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from initial case evaluation through resolution or trial.
• Develop case strategy and advise clients throughout the litigation process.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal briefs.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend court hearings, case management conferences, and other legal proceedings.
• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and trial.
• Collaborate with clients, insurance carriers, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams.

Qualifications

• Active member of the Utah Bar, or ability to obtain Utah Bar admission.
• Prior civil litigation experience required.
• Experience in medical malpractice defense, insurance defense, healthcare law, professional liability, or complex civil litigation is preferred.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
• Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities.
• Able to independently manage a litigation caseload.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Trial experience is a plus but not required.
