Litigation Attorney
About the role
Mcmichael Taylor Gray, LLC is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney for our Georgia division. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice law in Georgia and in good standing, with licensure in additional states preferred. The role involves handling a variety of cases including probate, title curative, wrongful foreclosure, title disputes, eviction matters, tax issues, and more.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload, from referral through disposition, settlement, or verdict.
- Attend court hearings and perform discovery.
- Respond to disputes, adhere to investor guidelines, and comply with state and federal requirements.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including court filings, correspondence, and demand letters.
- Resolve title issues and complete necessary curative actions to ensure clear title.
- Provide legal advice and conduct legal research for clients.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain knowledge of state and federal laws and civil procedure.
- Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation is preferred.
- Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and relevant state and federal debt collection and real property law is beneficial.
- Experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or evictions is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical standards and client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on finance, real estate, or representation of financial institutions in real estate related matters.
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of the states where you practice on behalf of the firm.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
Skills/Abilities
