Job Duties
Develop and implement litigation strategies in coordination with the legal team.
Manage all phases of the litigation process, including discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement, and appeal.
Represent the organization in court, presenting facts, arguing the case, and negotiating settlements.
Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the latest legal developments and trends.
Provide legal advice to clients on litigation-related matters.
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure efficient case management.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience as a licensed attorney.
- Ideal experience will be in oil & gas litigation, general civil litigation, commercial litigation, and/or criminal defense.
- Licensed in practice in Texas.
- Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High level of professional ethics and integrity.
- Proficiency in using legal research software and other related tools.
