About the role
A well-established regional defense firm with over 45 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-10 years of experience in general liability defense or workers' compensation to join any office including - DC, Philadelphia, Fairfax, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Mount Laurel, Newark, Richmond, Pittsburgh, Allentown, or Harrisburg.
Responsibilities
- Defend insurers, self-insured businesses, and corporate clients across either general liability matters - including premises liability, casualty, and civil litigation - or workers' compensation claims.
- Handle a caseload of general liability or workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and manage discovery.
- Represent clients in state and federal court hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and workers' compensation proceedings.
- Communicate directly with clients and advise on risk, exposure, and claims strategy.
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the DC, MD, and VA offices.
Requirements
- 2-10 years of general liability or workers' compensation litigation experience in defense.
- Active bar license in DC, MD, VA, PA, and/or NJ in good standing.
- Strong litigation skills including depositions, discovery, and motions practice.
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with partners and senior attorneys.

Pay
$95,000 - $175,000 base salary, contingent on experience, plus performance-based bonus potential.
Schedule
Hybrid remote flexibility, with appearances required in their respective courts as needed.
