Litigation Associate / Counsel (3+ Yrs Exp)

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
• Take and defend depositions
• Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as required)
• Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable
• Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
• Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across a remote environment

Requirements

• 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience
• Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable litigation work
• Strong experience with deposition practice, discovery, and motion work
• Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trial preparation strongly preferred
• Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote setting
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Active Connecticut Bar admission or ability to waive in
• Additional bar admissions are a significant plus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously
• Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with accountability and responsiveness

Pay

$135,000 - $200,000 per year
