Litigation Associate / Counsel (3+ Yrs Exp)

Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as required)
- Prepare matters for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicable
- Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, damages, and risk exposure
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff across a remote environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of civil litigation defense experience
- Background in insurance defense, general liability, or comparable litigation work
- Strong experience with deposition practice, discovery, and motion work
- Trial experience or meaningful exposure to trial preparation strongly preferred
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote setting
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Active Connecticut Bar admission or ability to waive in
- Additional bar admissions are a significant plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with accountability and responsiveness
Pay
$135,000 - $200,000 per year
