Responsibilities
- Manage litigation matters from inception through trial with increasing independence and minimal supervision.
- Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, including hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Conduct comprehensive case assessments and develop litigation strategies designed to achieve favorable client outcomes.
- Draft and argue complex pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings.
- Handle all phases of discovery, including document review, interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and depositions.
- Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and develop evidentiary and trial strategies.
- Research and analyze complex legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law; prepare legal memoranda and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct client interviews, witness interviews, and factual investigations to support case development and litigation strategy.
- Advise clients regarding legal risks, exposure, litigation strategy, settlement opportunities, and pre-suit resolution alternatives.
- Prepare trial materials, exhibits, witness outlines, pretrial filings, and courtroom presentations.
- Represent clients during mediations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including matters administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and other arbitration forums.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments, litigation strategy, and anticipated outcomes.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and support staff to ensure effective case management and successful execution of litigation objectives.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- 2+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage litigation matters through all phases of the litigation process, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Experience drafting complex pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery motions, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
- Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills, including experience arguing motions and appearing before judges and administrative tribunals.
- Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills, with proficiency using Westlaw and other legal research platforms.
- Strong academic credentials and a demonstrated history of professional achievement.
- Ability to formulate case strategy, evaluate risk exposure, and provide practical legal advice to clients.
- Experience with mediation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively advocate for clients and communicate complex legal concepts.
