Litigation Associate
About the role
Burr & Forman LLP has an immediate opening in its Atlanta, GA office for a Litigation Associate in its Financial Services Litigation Practice Group. This position requires a J.D. degree and membership in the Alabama Bar. This candidate should have three or more years of litigation experience, and a federal clerkship is preferred. Burr will consider various types of litigation experience. Quality candidates will be self-starters with great client service skills, strong academic credentials, as well as strong research, writing, organizational and analytical skills. Candidates must be qualified to practice law in Florida, and qualifications to practice law in other states is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on legal issues related to financial services litigation
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Prepare and present oral arguments before courts and administrative agencies
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously, working closely with clients and colleagues
- Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to develop and implement litigation strategies
- Assist in the preparation and filing of pleadings and motions
- Attend depositions and trials as necessary
Requirements
- J.D. degree
- Admission to the Alabama Bar
- Three or more years of litigation experience
- Preferred: Federal clerkship
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent research, writing, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-starter with great client service skills
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills

The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation. Actual compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, work experience, geographic location, skills and competencies, industry knowledge, job responsibilities, market considerations and other business considerations.
