About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and efficient Litigation Assistant to join our Litigation Support department. The ideal candidate is organized, service-minded, and capable of managing multiple cases while adhering to strict litigation timelines. This is a full-time, on-site position located in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
- Run investigative searches through ISO, EAMS, and social media platforms to identify case-strengthening information.
- Obtain critical case information, including medical records, radiology films, itemized billing, and subpoenaed files.
- Handle health insurance, Workers' Compensation, and statutory liens (DHCS Medi-Cal and CMS Medicare).
- Serve as the primary liaison for client care by coordinating medical appointments, tracking treatment recommendations, and facilitating third-party financing or client loans.
- Prepare and submit medpay reimbursement demands and secure settlement drafts from insurance carriers.
- Orchestrate the execution of settlement releases, authorizations, and check endorsements.
- Maintain consistent communication with paralegals and attorneys, providing timely case updates as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in criminal justice, sociology, or related studies.
- 2-5 years of litigation case management experience.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent telephone customer service etiquette and active listening skills.
- Superior time management and ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines.
- Excellent communication (verbal, listening, and written) and organizational skills.
- Consistent attendance to support team productivity and efficiency.
