Litigation and Personnel Analyst
Your Opportunity:
Covered California is looking for a Litigation and Personnel Analyst to join their Office of Legal Affairs. They are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is a team player, has strong research skills, communication, and writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Track federal and state litigation matters impacting Covered California and the Affordable Care Act, ensuring accurate data and timely updates;
- Support attorneys with personnel matters under the jurisdiction of the State Personnel Board (SPB) and California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), including preparing legal documents, organizing exhibits, and drafting prehearing statements;
- Develop and maintain document and information management systems for complex matters, and ensure deadlines are tracked and deliverables are completed with accuracy;
- Prepare information, such as litigation updates and regulatory actions, for presentation to various levels of staff, including executive leadership;
- Aid with identification, tracking, and analysis of federal and state administrative actions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong analytical (paralegal skills a plus).
- Familiarity with legal concepts and procedures.
- Knowledge in litigation support software such as Westlaw desirable.
- Experience developing and maintaining document management and information management systems for complex matters (litigation experience a plus).
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills, including the ability to track and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Experience preparing information for presentation to various levels of staff, including executive leadership, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under supervision and in a team setting, take initiative, handle assigned responsibilities, and exercise good judgment.
