About the role

Paul Hastings is seeking a Mid-Level Associate with CFTC experience to join our litigation team in Chicago. This is an opportunity to join a practice that is rapidly growing and is on the forefront of regulatory change.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidates will have practiced litigation for at least three to five years and will have significant experience with the CFTC and Commodity Exchange Act. The team currently has significant matters for clients regulated by the CFTC, including crypto and prediction market clients. The team works on a wide variety of matters—including litigation, enforcement, regulatory, and strategic advice—and offers an opportunity for significant exposure to clients and government regulators. This is cutting-edge work for a collaborative team that prioritizes associate development and mentorship.

Requirements

• Practiced litigation for at least three to five years
• Significant experience with the CFTC and Commodity Exchange Act
• Experience with clients regulated by the CFTC, including crypto and prediction market clients
• Wide variety of matters including litigation, enforcement, regulatory, and strategic advice
• Opportunity for significant exposure to clients and government regulators
• Collaborative team that prioritizes associate development and mentorship

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction where hired
• Law firm experience considered, but candidates who currently work at the CFTC or a CFTC-regulated entity are welcome to apply
• Position may reside in DC, Chicago, New York, Houston or Dallas, or any of our CA locations

Benefits

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $260,000 and a maximum of $390,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
