• Ability to model and discuss instructional approaches
• Ability to gather and analyze data
• Subject to a Criminal Records Check as required by Academy Board policy and State Law

Responsibilities

• Serve on the Leadership & Curriculum Committee
• Service all new teachers for a minimum of two years
• Model "Best Practices" of reading in all classrooms at teacher's invitation or as specified by administration based on data
• Assist teachers in diagnosing reading strengths and weaknesses and matching skills with appropriate techniques and materials
• Conduct individual and whole group data and instructional dialogue meetings with teachers
• Facilitate student growth through differentiated small-group instruction
• Co-oversee the intervention program, including data-analysis and student placement
• Co-Chair the Child Study Team
• Supervise and evaluate intervention paraprofessional staff
• Lead staffing adoption and implementation of core literacy program
• Provide training to teachers on literacy programs and best practices in cross-curricular connections
• Present yearly updates to Board of Directors
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Academy Director
