Liquor Store Associate

Responsibilities

• Compliance (50% of time): Observes customers and checks identification for age verification, identifies customers who should not be served additional alcohol, monitors customers to prevent open containers leaving the store, and denies sale of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated customers.
• Customer Excellence (25% of time): Provides continuous attention to customers' needs; greets, assists, and thanks customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner; offers product suggestions when appropriate.
• Operational Excellence (25% of time): Stocks and rotates department products for freshness and date control; restocks and uses supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain lowest supply cost; operates department equipment and tools; operates cashiering equipment accurately, recognizes all forms of tender, provides correct change; keeps work area clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards; reports faulty equipment and hazards to management.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Language: English required; English and Spanish preferred.
• Experience: No supervisory experience required; 0–3 years of relevant experience acceptable.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• TIPS training required prior to start date.
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug test and background check.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• High standard of integrity and reliability.

• Physical Demands: Regularly stand/walk on various flooring, use manual dexterity, talk, see, hear, smell, perform repetitive movements; frequently reach waist level or overhead, carry, push, lift loads up to required weights; occasionally sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb up to 30 ft.
• Working Conditions: Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, wet/humid environments.
• Safety Risk Factors: Frequently twist back/neck, walk on slippery/cluttered floors, work with hazardous equipment, exposed to sharp objects; occasionally exposed to loud noise
