Linux Systems Engineer / RHEL / Hybrid in Scottsdale

About the role

A growing financial technology organization in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer II to support and maintain critical infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain critical infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments
• Focuses heavily on Red Hat Linux administration, AWS cloud services, infrastructure automation, and enterprise systems support
• Work with a team responsible for maintaining the performance, security, and availability of large-scale hosting environments that support both internal operations and customer-facing platforms
• Enjoy working across diverse infrastructure technologies and solving complex operational challenges
• Operate independently, contribute to infrastructure improvements, and help drive reliability and automation initiatives in a mission-critical environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of Red Hat Linux system administration experience
• Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and CloudWatch
• Experience with Bash scripting and automation
• Understanding of data-at-rest encryption technologies
• Experience administering and maintaining production Linux environments
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Ability to support both cloud and on-premises infrastructure
• High school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification
• Additional infrastructure certifications related to Linux, Windows, Virtualization, Storage, or Data Center technologies
• Experience working with virtualization platforms
• Exposure to storage and datacenter technologies
• Knowledge of Windows server environments
• Experience supporting highly available enterprise systems
• Strong documentation and communication skills
