Linux Systems Architect

About the role

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Architect to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The Linux Orchestration Services (LOS) team, which is the standard of excellence for all things, Linux within the organization. The selected candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s cloud-compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Linux Operating System and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level design, specifying systems and component performance and interface requirements.
• Develop conceptual designs OR models to address requirements.
• Analyze problems to determine technical solutions.
• Write white papers AND develop user requirements based on evaluating solutions for solving technical problems.
• Maintain current knowledge on new and existing products, technologies, and/or architecture.
• Be willing to learn and share knowledge with others and be able to work well with both internal and external constituents.
• Design and build the information technology framework or environment.
• Guide information technology projects to product results that comply with established project requirements and IT architecture.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 10 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) OR 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• In depth experience with Linux (Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 8, 9, & 10; Amazon Linux; Rocky, etc.)
• Experience with Ansible & must possess strong knowledge of a wide range of cloud services / cloud-compute technologies such as AWS/Lambda functions.
