Linux Systems Admin L1 with Security Clearance

About the role

Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Linux Systems Administrator Level 1 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
• Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Supports IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Supports the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
• Configures and manages LINUX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

• A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph from the MD Customer is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required or ability to obtain within 6 months from start date. Must have:
• Experience with LINUX
• Containers/cloud environments
• Storage management
• Virtualization
• IP networking and Firewall experience
• Experience with automation tools is a bonus
• Have a solid understanding of PKI/TLS/crypto including crypto policies
• Application support and general troubleshooting
• Have a good deal of experience with SSP compliance, maintaining STE/STN compliance and support on Linux systems

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
