Linen Technician- York Hospital- Evening

About the Role

Performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution including issuing supplies, maintaining inventories, compiling stock records, receiving, preparing items for shipment and/or return to vendor, and data entry into various systems. Investigates and reconciles data issues to ensure reporting and accounting accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Issues supplies, maintains inventories, and compiles stock records.
• Receives and prepares items for shipment and/or return to vendor.
• Complies with US Postal Service Regulations.
• Performs data entry into various systems in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Investigates and reconciles data issues to ensure reporting and accounting accuracy.
• Tracks, expedites, and statuses shortages/backorders for inventory items.
• Ensures standard operating procedures are followed for purchases of materials.
• Maintains computerized purchase order files and related records of suppliers, materials, and delivery.
• Compares computer balances with periodic sampling checks of physical inventory and researches discrepancies.
• Participates in evaluation of acceptable substitutions.
• Works with managers, supervisors, technicians, supply distributors, freight aggregators, linen providers, and equipment vendors.
• May work directly with clinical customers and/or Procurement & Contracting.
• Responds to requests for information from Finance regarding invoice approval, shipping quantities, and product differences; works with vendors for resolution.
• Processes returns, prepares bills of lading, and packs/ships via electronic manifest.
• May communicate directly with vendors.
• Maintains established policies, procedures, objectives, quality assessment, and safety standards.
• Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
• Performs other related duties as identified.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of related experience.
