Lineman C-A

American Electric Power · Shreveport, LA · 1 mo ago
On-siteManagement$36.08–$58.62/hrFull-time
We need to produce HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes Job Summary, Job Description, What You’ll Do, What we're looking for, What You’ll Get, etc. We must use

for section headings (e.g., About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). We should map content to these headings as appropriate. We must not repeat job title as heading. We must not include Job ID etc. Remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO etc. Also remove application instructions. Must preserve all substantive info. We need to decide which sections to include based on actual content. Content includes: - Job Summary: description of work: installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. All job duties apply to overhead and underground equipment and facilities. The Lineman C builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Lineman D (or equivalent). - Residency requirement: must reside within 25 miles from Shreveport Service Center. - What You’ll Do: Essential Job Functions and Tasks (list of many tasks). This is a list of duties. - What we're looking for: Lineman C Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Work experience: Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, OR one year of related line experience defined as: successful completion of a one year electrical power line school certificate plus a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience, or an Associate degree from an electrical power line school which includes a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class A CDL is required. Other Must Haves: ... includes many bullet points about qualifications, progression, physical abilities assessment. - Also includes Lineman B and Lineman A education/experience etc. Those are likely for higher classifications but still part of posting? Might be considered as "Requirements" for Lineman C? Actually they list requirements for Lineman B and A as part of "What we're looking for"? It seems they included progression details. We should preserve all substantive info. Could include under Requirements or Qualifications. - What You’ll Get: Pay rates: Lineman C $34.69/hr, Lineman B $39.33/hr, Lineman A $56.36/hr. Also mentions benefits package. - Compensation Data: Compensation Grade: U072-R32, Compensation Range: $36.08 - $58.62. Physical Demand Level: H – Heavy Work... - Also mission statement etc. Might be considered "About the role" or "About the company". We can include a section "About the role" with job summary and maybe company mission. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". We have actual pay and benefits. We need to decide which headings to use: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Benefits, Pay, Schedule? Schedule not present, so omit. Benefits present (mention of benefits package). Pay present (hourly rates and compensation range). Requirements: education, experience, licensure, residency, physical abilities. Qualifications: maybe similar to requirements; but we can combine. The instruction: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So we could have sections: About the role (job summary + company mission), Responsibilities (essential job functions), Requirements (education, experience, licensure, residency, physical abilities), Pay & Benefits (pay rates, compensation range, benefits). Possibly Qualifications separate? But we can merge Requirements and Qualifications into one. We must not repeat job title as heading. Use

for each section heading. We must use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use

for prose. We need to preserve all substantive information. Must not invent or summarize away detail. We need to remove boilerplate: EEO, equal opportunity, scam warning, cookie/navigation/legal, application instructions (like "Get job alerts by email", "Log in to your Candidate Home Account", etc). Also remove "When required by law, we might record certain information..." etc. We must keep the residency requirement, job summary, essential job functions, education, experience, licensure, other must haves, physical abilities assessment, pay rates, compensation range, benefits package mention, mission statement maybe. We must not include the "Job Posting End Date" etc. That's metadata; we can drop it. We must not include "Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date". Drop. We must not include "Compensation Data" heading? We can incorporate into Pay & Benefits. We must not include "Physical Demand Level" maybe as part of Requirements. We must not include "Hear about it first! Get job alerts by email..." drop. We must not include EEO statement. Now craft HTML. Structure:

Residency requirement: Successful candidate must reside within 25 miles from the Shreveport Service Center.

      • Must acquire within such time frame as determined by the Company, the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of the next higher classification in the line of progression, or vacate the current job classification.
      • A physical abilities assessment is also required for this position.
Note: The nested list may be okay but we need to keep
    • for any list. Could flatten. Better to keep top-level list items, and for subpoints we can use

      or separate

        . But instruction: Use
        • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. It doesn't forbid nested lists. We'll keep simple. Maybe we can combine other must haves as separate
        • items. Thus:

          Requirements

          • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
          • Experience: Minimum of one year distribution electrical power line work experience, OR one year of related line experience defined as: successful completion of a one year electrical power line school certificate plus a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience, or an Associate degree from an electrical power line school which includes a minimum of 16 weeks internship or distribution electrical power line experience.
          • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class A CDL is required.
          • Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman D or the equivalent and shall qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.
          • Must have the ability and desire to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the duties and/or responsibilities of the key job (Lineman A) in this family and be qualified through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.
          • Must acquire within such time frame as determined by the Company, the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of the next higher classification in the line of progression, or vacate the current job classification.
          • A physical abilities assessment is also required for this position.
          Now Pay & Benefits:

          Pay and Benefits

          Pay rates: Lineman C $34.69/hr, Lineman B $39.33/hr, Lineman A $56.36/hr.

          Compensation range: $36.08 - $58.62 (Grade U072-R32).

In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.

We could also list benefits as a list but not detailed; just mention. We should not include schedule section. Now ensure we didn't include any boilerplate like EEO, etc. Check for any leftover: "Physical Demand Level for this job is: H – Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work." This is substantive; we should include it maybe under Requirements or a separate section like "Physical Demands". Since we have a Requirements section, we can add a list item for physical demand. Add to Requirements list:
        • Physical Demand Level: H – Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to
