Linehaul Coordinator

Supports and/or contributes to planning transportation needs for the efficient movement of volume to maximize capacity, minimize partial trailer loads, and ensure service integrity for assigned areas. Directs the dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other FedEx field operations to efficiently and effectively plan both contractor and equipment needs to ensure sufficient coverage for trailer movements.
• Coordinates and tracks the processing and movement of FedEx trailers, rental equipment, new trailers, and dollies in the FedEx network.
• Manages locally domiciled Unassigned Team logistics throughout the Linehaul network to maximize resource use and minimize tractor dwell.
• Directs the dispatch of transportation equipment in accordance with the Linehaul plan.
• Ensures Linehaul dispatch and arrival rules are followed according to defined Company procedures.
• Coordinates cargo shipments to maximize trailer volume while meeting package delivery obligations.
• Enters trip details into an online system (TMS) to ensure on-time delivery and pick-up of trailers.
• Verifies the location of equipment in the dispatch system by completing yard inventories.
• Verifies the load/unload status of trailers by completing yard checks.
• Timely reports missing equipment.
• Follows and communicates safety initiatives to ensure a safety-conscious culture.
• Investigates and reports schedule delays, accidents, and equipment failures, implementing contingency plans to ensure on-time load delivery.
• Reviews and communicates Department of Transportation (DOT) roadside violations to management.
• Coordinates with Safety and Maintenance departments to monitor monthly tractor safety inspections and ensure annual DOT compliance.
• Reviews Trailer Load Condition Reports (TLCR’s) to ensure proper completion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or related area preferred.
• Dispatch experience preferred.

Skills

• Ability to work productively in a team environment and effectively implement operational processes.
• Knowledge of Linehaul field operations concepts, practices, procedures, and transportation regulations, including DOT regulations.
• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Desired location: Lewisberry, PA.
• Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.

Pay

20.35 - 34.97 USD hourly.

Schedule

Part-time position: Thursday through Sunday, 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
