About the Role

At Schwan Cosmetics USA, we bring world-class beauty products to life! We are seeking a seasoned Line Technician IV to apply advanced mechanical knowledge and skill to troubleshoot, set up, and optimize technology operations across our manufacturing line. Reporting to the Production Supervisor or Department Manager, you will play a critical role in driving production efficiency, resolving complex technical downtime, ensuring continuous improvement, and mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation & Setup (50%): Set up, adjust process parameters, and endorse line clearances for 4+ technologies (SMT, Rmatic, Deco, Packing, Liquid, etc.). Utilize Maintenance Connection software for preventive maintenance schedules and downtime reporting.
  • Troubleshooting & Training (30%): Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to reduce downtime. Train and mentor Line Technicians (Levels 1–3) on safety protocols, quality standards, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Safety & Continuous Improvement (15%): Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace adhering to cGMP, 5S, and eco-friendly standards. Assist with implementing safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Additional Duties (5%): Rotate across production shifts as needed and perform other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Mechatronics Technology Certificate, or 3+ years of equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years in a high-volume, machine-paced manufacturing environment. Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and production setup.
  • Technical Skills: Basic math proficiency, ability to read micrometers and rulers, and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Soft Skills: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, verbal communication, and team leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to rotate shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Continuous standing, color discrimination, and hearing acuity.
  • Frequent walking, pushing/pulling, fine hand/eye coordination, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/lowering 30–50 lbs.
  • Working in an active high-volume manufacturing setting with required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes).
