Line Striper-Pavement Marking Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Layout and install pavement markings on roadways, parking lots, and airports using waterborne paint, epoxy, polyurea, thermoplastic, and related materials.
• Operate and maintain pavement marking equipment (paint trucks, plural component trucks, thermoplastic units, grooving and water-blasting removal trucks), including daily inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Calculate field measurements from engineered plans and/or aerial imagery, and track quantities installed.
• Perform traffic control (flagging, lane closures) in compliance with DOT and safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and drive company trucks to transport materials and equipment to job sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in pavement marking, highway construction, or a related field is a plus.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 5 years) is required; a CDL is preferred.
• Must join Laborers Local Union #1058 and comply with PLP Co.'s Substance Abuse Policy and DOT Drug Control Program, including pre-employment and random testing.
• Must obtain Flagging Certification or Traffic Control Technician Certification.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and comfort with smartphones and workplace apps.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physical work outdoors in variable weather conditions; must supply own hand tools.
• Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and occasional travel; strong teamwork and work ethic are required.
