About the role
The Line Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the molding process, ensuring all equipment functions properly and that products meet quality specifications. This role involves monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining production equipment, performing quality checks, and supporting continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and inspect molding line and equipment for safe, efficient operation before start-up.
- Verify product specifications against the production schedule.
- Operate and adjust depositor settings to ensure correct weights and material distribution.
- Pump tempered chocolate and center material as needed for machine cooling.
- Monitor product quality (weight, gloss, appearance) and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform changeovers and minor mechanical adjustments between production runs.
- Clean, inspect, and lubricate equipment throughout the day (Autonomous Maintenance).
- Keep the cupper full and maintain continuous line operation.
- Complete required quality checks and production paperwork accurately.
- Report any safety, quality, or operational issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all safety rules, plant guidelines, and attendance requirements.
- Power down equipment and turn in paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Requirements
- Ability to keep up with fast-paced conveyor line.
- Mental alertness to identify quality issues.
- Ability to understand and follow standard procedures.
- Ability to follow basic instruction on a computer.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
