About the role
The Production Line Lead at Europastry is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operation of multiple machines to ensure products are processed efficiently and meet quality standards. Key responsibilities include maintaining equipment, training staff, and identifying and resolving process issues.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and optimize line processing flow
- Oversee installation, operation, and maintenance of production processes
- Train employees to ensure proper handling and processing of products
- Perform inspections and minor mechanical functions on machines
- Ensure proper cleaning and safety of machines and work areas
- Correct problems and set priorities
- Identify and eliminate technical malfunctions
- Work in unison with other co-workers on the line
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
- Maintain productivity logs as required
- Ensure product moves uniformly through processing stages according to schedule
- Detect and report defects to supervisors
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational education in manufacturing or mechanical systems preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or food production environment, with leadership or lead experience preferred
- Working knowledge of automated production equipment, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices
- Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, SQF, and OSHA safety regulations
- Proven ability to lead and train team members, prioritize work, and maintain production efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to identify process improvements and resolve production issues
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic machine functions
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety standards, SQF, and OSHA safety regulations
- Leadership or lead experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
- Experience with automated production equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment
