Degree Brewpub is a gathering place that blends new school with old school, offering handcrafted, familiar food and drinks done right. The globally‑inspired menu is thoughtfully sourced, featuring 16 wines by the glass, over 15 Colorado craft beers, and handcrafted cocktails made from local spirits. The brewpub provides Hospitality students of MSU Denver with first‑hand learning experience, training alongside seasoned professional restaurateurs from Sage Hospitality. Patrons who dine here support the students’ futures, enjoy a fantastic meal, and contribute to the Metropolitan State University of Denver Foundation, which funds student scholarships.

Responsibilities

• Check all items against recipe cards and verify that use records are followed for all items served; ensure food is presented efficiently and with quality.
• Monitor line setup prior to all meal functions to maximize efficiency during meal periods.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and enforce the kitchen “clean as you go” policy for strict adherence.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, production, and portion standards as directed by servers.
• Start food items prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to exceed estimated needs.
• Date all food containers and rotate per SOP to keep perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, perform freezer pull, and set up the line.
• Note any out‑of‑stock items or possible shortages.
• Assist in keeping the buffet stocked.
• Return unused food items to designated storage areas on the next shift, covering and dating all perishables.
• Assist in developing plans and actions to correct food cost problems; control food waste, loss, and usage per SOP.
