About the role

The Line Cook position at NeueHouse Madison Square, a space within the historic 1913 Tepper Galleries building in the heart of the Flatiron District, supports an elevated culinary program that fuels the creative community. This role involves managing ticket flow, pacing, and station organization for both live à la carte service and banquet plating.

Responsibilities

• Service Excellence: Exemplify excellence in portioning, cooking, and timing during daily food service.
• Culinary Precision: Strictly adhere to recipes to ensure every dish meets visual and flavor standards.
• Catering & Event Mastery: Support the execution of catering orders for meetings and large-scale events, including meticulous prep, timely transport, and precise assembly of banquet-style menus with a focus on punctuality and temperature control.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with fellow associates to ensure efficient completion of kitchen duties, from daily mise en place to post-event breakdown, within strict time constraints.
• Standard Bearer: Follow NeueHouse steps of service and maintain rigorous standards for sanitation, organization, and food handling across both the restaurant line and event kitchens.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Cook experience in a related role
• Strong cooking and knife skills required
• Positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
• Able to work well with others and have good communication skills
• Flexible and willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Pay

Full Time Hourly Rate: $21.00/hour

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

Schedule

Rotating work schedule that may include nights and weekends.
