Position Summary The Line Cook assists with preparation of meals and is responsible for complying with sanitation regulations. Key Responsibilities Set up and stock stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare food for serviceCook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffAnswer, report and follow executive and sous chef’s instructionsStock inventory appropriatelyEnsure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Requirements ServSafe certified1-2 years of proven work experience as a line cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing tasksFamiliar with industry’s best practicesEvening, weekend, and holiday availability required Physical Requirements Required to walk often and stand for long periods of timeRequired to use hands to hold, carry, handle or feelRequired to reach with hands and armsRequired to talk and hearOccasionally required to bend, lift or climbOften required to lift moderate weights (25-40 pounds)Occasionally required to lift heavy weights (40 pounds or greater)Finger dexterity requiredHand coordination requiredSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus The above job duties and responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work for employees in this position, but this is not intended as an exclusive or all-inclusive inventory of all duties required of employees in this job.
